WHAT DOES IT DO?

The DuPage County Board holds all of the powers of the County that are not already assigned to other elected officials or governmental bodies and boards. Overall, it is responsible for the management of county funds. It also has fiscal and regulatory powers. Policies and programs of the board are implemented through the levying of taxes and then appropriating the funds.

The DuPage County Board operates on a committee system, meaning most county business is conducted in committee. Some of the board's committees include the following.

WHAT'S THE BUDGET?
​
The DuPage County Board's budget is $445 million. Property taxes account for 13%, while the bulk of the budget (55%) is generated from sales and usage taxes. The remainder is comprised of income received from fines and forfeitures, charges for services, and licenses and permits.
